Well, your move took guts, but I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.. I lived in Mountain View, Ca. in a crappy Apt building when the riots broke out & spread around. My neighbors, Latinos, Blacks, & Asians all came & knocked on my door & told me to get my car off the street so it wouldn’t get torn up by the rioters. They also stood on the block & tried to make sure everyone else’s stuff wasn’t messed with. I’d bring them tea or water every so often, only to be told to go & stay inside,”You got the wrong skin today Gringo. Go home.” Some were friends, but most were acquaintances thru cookouts or whatever. But My wife & I were the only white couple living in the complex. Nothing much really happened, but I’ve always been thankful for my neighbors that day. I’ve never forgotten that..
